Sound the trumpets. Prepare the fatted calf. Ready the arteries. Deep-fried Twinkies are headed to Walmart.

Anne D'Innocenzio, national retail writer for The Associated Press, reports that Walmart and Hostess collaborated to bring deep-fried Twinkies out from the realm of county fairs and into commercial packaging.

The deep-fried diabolical concoction will be available exclusively at Walmart for a year.

The bottom of the packaging notes, "Keep frozen - cook thoroughly," so you can find these artery-clogging goodies in the freezer aisle, and get them ready for eating by popping them in the oven.
